Technical rigging & tree dismantling
We understand that sometimes trees need to come down, but that doesn't mean they can always be clear felled.
For complex removals or trees in restricted spaces, our certified arborists offer technical rigging and dismantling services to ensure the tree is removed in a safe and controlled way.

What is technical rigging tree work?
We employ technical rigging techniques, using specialised ropes, pulleys, and other equipment to carefully dismantle a tree in manageable sections.
This method allows for precise control over the descent of each branch and trunk section, minimising risk to people and property on the ground.
When is technical rigging necessary to dismantle a tree?

Dead or Hazardous Trees:
Diseased, dying, or storm-damaged trees pose a significant risk of falling unexpectedly. Rigging allows for a controlled takedown, minimising the chance of property damage or injury.

Trees in Confined Spaces:
Trees close to buildings, power lines, or other structures require a dismantling approach to avoid damage during removal.

Large or Overgrown Trees:
Trees that are too large or have complex branching structures can be safely dismantled in sections.

Environmentally Sensitive Areas:
When working near delicate ecosystems or protected landscapes, rigging allows for a targeted removal with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment.

Why use Tendring Tree Surgery to dismantle your tree?
Dismantling a tree safely requires specialised tools, equipment and skillset. This is why it’s crucial to use experienced arborists like us who have the necessary knowledge, qualifications and insurance.
We can assess the tree's health, structure, and potential dangers involved in dismantling it to plan the safest approach and mitigate risks to your property and people nearby.
Using section-by-section removal, we are able to minimise the risk of any damage to surrounding structures like buildings, fences, or landscaping.
We have the proper equipment and use appropriate techniques to dismantle a tree efficiently, saving you time and minimising disruption.
Your property will be left clean and tidy with all debris removed.

What if the tree is next to a road?
If you have a tree that overhangs a road for example, we may need to engage the services of a traffic management company to control traffic flow, before we are able to carry out the required work. This will be organised on your behalf to ensure the work is completed safely without risk to road users.
What if the tree cannot be climbed?
For trees that are diseased, dead or otherwise too hazardous to be climbed by our arborists, a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) can be used to position our arborists close enough to the tree for safe dismantling. Sections of the tree can then be rigged down or lowered by a crane.
